Thousands Throng Temples On New Year Day

All major temples across Telangana were thronged by devotees today on the occasion of New Year Day.

People visited the temples their favourite deities to seek blessings and wish for a prosperous year ahead.

Temples including the ones at Yadadri, Bhadradri, Vemulawada, Jogulamba and Komuravelli witnessed large crowds from the early hours of the day. Temple authorities made elaborate arrangements to manage the heavy influx of visitors.

In Hyderabad, devotees flocked popular temples including the one at Chilkur, Birla Mandir, the Peddamma Thalli temple in Jubilee Hills, the TTD temple in Himayath Nagar, the Skandagiri temple in Padmarao Nagar, the ISKCON temples in Abids and Secunderabad, the Hare Krishna temple in Banjara Hills, the Jagannath Swamy temple in Banjara Hills, and the Sri Kanakadurga Nagalakshmi temple in Basheerbagh.

Traffic came to a standstill near the popular temples due to the crowds, and serpentine queues of parked vehicles were witnessed. The police worked diligently to regulate the traffic and ensure smooth movement.
