Bonalu Celebrated With Devotion And Grandeur In City

The Ashadha Bonalu celebrations took place today across Hyderabad, including in the Old City, with grandeur and devotion.

The rituals began at 4 am with a sacrificial ceremony at the Lal Darwaja Simha Vahini Mahankali Ammavari temple, followed by a Mahabhishekam performed by the family of former MP Devender Goud. This was followed by the formal commencement of the Bonalu offering ceremony.

On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and ministers Ponnam Prabhakar, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Konda Surekha, Jupally Krishna Rao, Seethakka and Sridhar Babu, along with several MPs, MLAs and MLCs, offered silk garments to the Goddess on behalf of the State government at various temples across the twin cities.

Komatireddy and Prabhakar also visited the Bhagyalakshmi temple at Charminar to present silk clothes to the Goddess. Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya also visited the temple.

Leaders were seen at other prominent temples, too. Union minister Kishan Reddy visited the Maisamma temple in Begumpet to offer prayers, and BRS MLC K Kavitha participated in the Bonalu celebrations at the Aliabad temple.
