Congress MP from Malkajgiri A Revanth Reddy today congratulated his party workers and leaders for working hard for the victory of the party in the just concluded Telangana municipal elections.
Disputing the TRS' "propaganda" about sweeping the elections, he said that the TRS did not get even 50% of the seats in 25 municipalities, and alleged that the ruling party leaders were claiming that their party had won those municipalities as well. He also pointed out that 10 rebels of the TRS from Sircilla and six from Gajwel had won the elections.
Reddy also said that his party would treat wins and losses in the same manner, and that the workers should not get demoralized by any losses.
The Telangana Congress Working President also alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had resorted to blackmailing rival party leaders to win the elections, and that the CM had threatened his cabinet ministers that they would lose their posts if the party was defeated, resulting in their misusing their power to win at any cost.
Claiming that the ruling party leaders had filed fake cases against the Congress leaders as part of their blackmailing tactics, Reddy said that the CM had no love for or belief in the people, and reposed his faith in money and the police of the State. He also pointed out that the TRS had not talked about its development programs in its election manifesto, clearly showing that the party did not think the manifesto important.
Reddy also targeted the State Election Commission for not taking action against ministers Errabelli Dayakar Rao, KTR, Chamakura Malla Reddy and Gangula Kamalakar for violating the code of conduct.
The Congress MP said that the state government would soon increase the electricity charges and house taxes in the state. He also predicted that the government would also charge four times the current water charges for Mission Bhagiratha waters.
He also said that his party would continue to fight on behalf of the people of the State.
