The Congress High Command is likely to take a stern, disciplinary action against some leaders in the state, who have been targeting the leadership over the issue of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
An indication to this effect was given by PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana during an informal chat with reporters at Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday.
He indicated that the party was gearing up to take action against the leaders of both Telangana and Seemandhra region, irrespective of their position and seniority.
Botsa said that some leaders were targeting the Congress leadership to make a place in other opposition parties.
Botsa said that all Congress MLAs would be free to express their views when the Telangana Bill is introduced in the State Legislative Assembly.
Answering a query, he dismissed the possibility of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy floating a new political party. (INN)
