Rural Development minister, Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad, on Monday, claimed that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was still loyal to the Congress party.
Speaking to media representatives, Dokka said that the Chief Minister?s loyalty towards the Congress High Command could not be questioned, although he (the CM) had expressed open dissent over the issue of the proposed bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
Dokka Manikya Vara said that the Chief Minister had refused to accept the CWC's decision on Telangana. However, he said, Kiran Kumar Reddy had still followed the Congress High Command's directions in the Rajya Sabha elections.
Dokka said that the Chief Minister might resign from his post, but will not float a new party.
Dokka also condemned the statements of ministers T G Venkatesh and Erasu Pratap Reddy who had been floating rumours about Kiran Kumar Reddy's new party.
He said that the Chief Minister was being misled by some leaders. Dooka also announced that he had not been invited for the meeting held by Kiran Kumar Reddy with Seemandhra legislators on Sunday.
The minister also expressed confidence that the agitation of Seemandhra people will not go to waste. Similarly, he defended the Seemandhra MPs'
protest in the Parliament by claiming that the MPs were expressing the sentiments of the people whom they represent in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. (INN)
