Congress MLCs K R Amos and Yadav Reddy welcomed the decision of Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana to expel former minister J C Diwakar Reddy.
Speaking to media persons in the Assembly premises, the Congress MLCs said that JC deserved "stern action", and his expulsion from the party would send a strong message to all other rebels.
They also requested the Congress High Command to take note of the behaviour of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on the issue of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
The Congress MLCs also warned the Seemandhra leaders against stalling the Telangana Bill in the Parliament.
They said that the statehood for Telangana is a matter of pride for people of this region, and that the 60-year-old dream is about to get realised now.
Therefore, they said that any effort to "shatter the dream of Telangana" would result in serious consequences.
They also said that more than a thousand youth have committed suicide for the cause of Telangana state.
They said that the Centre will only seek a view of State Legislative Assembly, and that the result of voting on Telangana Bill would be of no significance. (INN)
