PCC President Botsa Satyanaryana is confident of reviving the Congress party in Seemandhra region.
Speaking to media personnel at Gandhi Bhavan, Botsa admitted that the Congress has suffered heavy damage in the Seemandhra region due to the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
However, he said, regaining the confidence of the Seemandhra people will be a major challenge for the party. He promised that the Congress party would make Seemandhra the best state in the country, and advised the Congress leaders and workers to work hard to strengthen the party in both the Rayalaseema and the coastal Andhra regions.
Botsa also announced that a meeting of DCC presidents, city presidents and other office bearers of all 13 districts of Seemandhra has been convened on March 5th at the Gandhi Bhavan wherein the party's future strategies will be discussed.
When asked about the possibility of the TRS party's merger with the Congress, Botsa said that the issue was directly being handled by the Congress High Command, and the state leadership was not involved in it.
However, he advised the Congress leaders to restrain from making any statements on the merger and also from commenting on TRS leaders including K Chandrasekhar Rao.
Botsa also ridiculed TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu's promise of developing Seemandhra to be like Singapore. He alleged that Naidu's illegal wealth was stacked in Singapore and therefore, the latter refers to Singapore for everything.
Without naming former Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Botsa said that launching new political parties have become a fashion, and that such parties are usually used to blackmail the Central and State governments. (INN)
