Tribal Welfare Minister P Balraju, on Monday, appealed to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to initiate suo moto proceedings against Communist Party Of India state secretary K Narayana for making derogatory remarks against Major Industries Minister Dr. J Geetha Reddy.
Talking to media persons at the Congress Legislature Party Office, the Tribal Welfare Minister said that Dalit MLAs and leaders in the party took serious note of Narayana's comments, and that despite his reported apology, had lodged a petition with the Chief Minister at his Camp Office.
The Dalit leaders condemned Narayana's comments that Geetha Reddy was giving more importance to her looks rather than her ministry, he stated.
Submitting substantial evidence to the Chief Minister, Balraju said that the Dalit leaders had asked Kiran Kumar Reddy to initiate suo moto proceedings against Narayana. He said that the CM assured the Dalit leaders that he would look into the issue and initiate action as per law.
Health Education Minister Kondru Murali Mohan was also present in the delegation. (INN)
