Leaders Mourn Death Of Actor Kota Srinivasa Rao

Prominent leaders from the Telugu States recalled the actor's contributions to both cinema and society, and mourned his passing was a great loss.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, his Cabinet ministers, Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar, BRS President K Chandrashekar Rao, BRS working president K T Rama Rao, BJP Telangana President N Ramchander Rao, TPCC Chief Mahesh Kumar Goud, Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, AP Governor Abdul Nazeer and YSR Congress President Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy were among those who condoled the death this morning of veteran Telugu actor Kota Srinivasa Rao, recalling the actor's significant contributions to both cinema and society, and terming his passing an irreplaceable loss to the Telugu-speaking community.

In a post on X, Revanth Reddy wrote that Rao's death had come as a shock and left an irreparable void in the film industry.

"Even though Kota is no longer with us physically, he will remain in the hearts of Telugu people through the diverse roles he portrayed. I pray for his soul to rest in peace and extend my deepest condolences to his family," Reddy said.

Former chief minister KCR expressed profound sorrow over the actor's demise, describing him as a distinguished artist who captivated audiences with his versatility and cemented his place in the hearts of Telugu audiences with his memorable performances. "His death is a great loss to Indian cinema, and I pray for his soul," KCR said, and offered condolences to the bereaved family and fans.

KTR remembered Rao as an extraordinary actor who had left an indelible mark on Telugu cinema. "His roles ranged from villainy to comedy to emotional depth - an unmatched repertoire. His contributions in over 750 films across four decades is nothing short of monumental in Telugu cinema," he said. "He not only received several accolades including the Padma Shri and nine Nandi Awards, but also won the hearts of people across the Telugu States."

Former ministers Harish Rao and Talasani Srinivas Yadav also expressed shock over the veteran actor's passing, describing it as deeply unfortunate.

Chandrababu Naidu also paid rich tributes, reflecting on Rao's remarkable contributions to Telugu cinema and the latter's tenure as an MLA representing the Vijayawada East Assembly constituency in 1999.

"I pay my respects to Padma Shri awardee Kota Srinivasa Rao, who captivated audiences of all ages with his exceptional acting skills. I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family," Naidu wrote in a post on X.
