CPI national secretary Dr K Narayana today made provocative remarks.
He said that the Congress came to power in Telangana due to its alliance with the CPI, and that it lost the remaining three States due to lack of an alliance with the Communists.
He said that the Congress national leadership should take it as a lesson.
The CPI leader also said that the party would contest in four seats in Kerala, two seats in Tamil Nadu, three seats in West Bengal and one each in Telangana and AP in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking about Andhra Pradesh, Narayana said that AP Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was digging his own grave in his State. He asked why Jagan was getting his photos printed in the pattadar passbooks, and reminded him that he was not the permanent Chief Minister of the State. He criticized Jagan for committing more mistakes than the "frauds" committed by KCR in the name of Dharani, and said that the people of AP were opposed to Reddy. "Like in Telangana, there will be a transfer of power in AP, too," he said.
CPI national executive member Chada Venkat Reddy asked the Congress government to convene an all-party meeting on land issues. "People have high hopes from the new government, and they have to be fulfilled," he said. He also said that the comments by Harish Rao and KTR that the Congress government would not last were arrogant and betrayed frustration.
