Amidst heavy protests against a proposed thermal power plant in Anaparthi constituency of East Godavari, the constituency's elected MLA Nallamilli Sesha Reddy has gone missing.
Protests by the people of Balavaram village, against the proposed installation of a thermal power plant there, have been going on in full force for the last 4 days, come hell or lathi charge. The people who have been recieving support from leaders of all other parties, were understandably miffed when their own MLA has neither supported them, nor reprimanded the police on their rough conduct.
While some are reacting via dharnas are they hold placards that read "Please find our MLA", some others have been venting their anger by burning Reddy's effigies. Yet others have been alleging that the minister has gone into hiding as he has a stake in the proposed plant, and does to have th guts to face his people.
Said CPI Narayana, "It is strange that none of the local MPs or MLAs have lent their support to their own people, even as the struggle against the plant is growing everyday."
The constituents want to file a missing report with the police, but are held back due to fears of cases being slapped on them, say sources.
