MLA and Government Whip Aadi Srinivas today strongly condemned BRS working president K T Rama Rao's "derogatory" remarks, wherein the latter reportedly called the Sircilla Collector a "petty official and a Congress worker".
He accused KTR of arrogance and disrespect toward government officials.
Speaking to reporters at the Congress Legislative Party media conference hall, Srinivas, along with Thungaturthi MLA Mandula Samuel, alleged that KTR's comments against the Collector depicted someone prone to abusing power and lacking in propriety.
"KTR's arrogance remains unchecked even after losing power. He speaks recklessly about everyone, from the Chief Minister to the Collectors, with no restraint," he said.
He alleged that KTR was frustrated by the Collector's investigations into irregularities in Sircilla. "Over the past ten years, K T Rama Rao and his followers have exploited 1,000 acres of government land. The Collector is now reclaiming 150 acres from ineligible occupants, and KTR is retaliating by threatening and defaming him," he claimed.
Srinivas urged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to order a CID probe into the "land mismanagement" in Sircilla. He also called on the IAS Officers' Association to respond strongly to KTR's comments and lodge a formal complaint.
Samuel too said that KTR had disrespected IAS officers. "Power isn't KTR's personal property. KTR should apologize to the IAS officers and face legal consequences for his actions," he said.
Samuel also accused KTR of misusing schemes like the Bathukamma saree distribution to exploit handloom workers in Sircilla while importing sarees from Mumbai. "In ten years, he failed to establish even a thread depot in Sircilla," he said.
Both leaders also alleged that KTR's remarks were an attempt to divert attention from internal issues within the BRS and growing public dissatisfaction with its previous governance.
