Congress Complains On TRS Violating Election Code
The ministers and CM were spending government funds as they wished and using the official machinery for hoardings and advertisements, the party claimed.
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Campaign Committee chairman Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka alleged that the TRS government was violating the election code and misusing the public exchequer.
Several Congress leaders led by Vikramarka met Chief Secretary S K Joshi and lodged a complaint with the latter alleging that the caretaker government was neglecting the election code. The caretaker ministers and Chief Minister were spending government funds as they wished and using the official machinery for hoardings, advertisements, and policy matter displays on state-run RTC buses, government offices and public properties, he claimed. He asked the Chief Secretary to extract the expenditure incurred over the advertisements from the TRS since the election code had come into effect.
Later, Vikramarka said that the Chief Secretary had responded in a positive manner to their complaint, and said that the Congress would decide on the next course of action in case the Chief Secretary failed to initiate action on their complaint.
Separately, TPCC President N Uttam Kumar Reddy raised serious doubts over the impartiality and neutrality of Chief Electoral Officer Rajat Kumar, also alleging that the Model Code of Conduct was not being implemented in Telangana.
