Senior Congress leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka today slammed the TRS-led state government for allegedly not supporting the aspirations and dreams of the people of Telangana.
Addressing the Congress' ongoing Dalit Girijana dandora at Medchal-Malkajgiri's Muduchintalapally village, the leader said that Congress president Sonia Gandhi had supported the creation of a separate Telangana to ensure that the people of the region could live their lives with self-respect in a new state but that this dream was yet to come true as the KCR government was "not spending funds" on SC and ST welfare.
He then demanded the state government take steps to allow the "poor and oppressed people" of the state to lead their lives with a sense of pride, and that the new Dalit Bandhu SC empowerment scheme be implemented across the state and
not in poll-bound Huzurabad alone.
Explaining the purpose of the dandora, Vikramarka said that it had been organised by the Congress as his party wanted to "stand by the Dalits and the tribals" of the state. He also asserted that, unlike the TRS, the main objective of the Congress was to support the people's aspirations.
The leader also launched a scathing attack against Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and asked the latter to explain what he had done for his adopted village Muduchintalapally. He even claimed that the CBI had booked three cases against KCR in 2014 and that the latter would have to go to jail in the days to come.
TPCC head A Revanth Reddy was also present for the program.
