BRS working president and former minister K T Rama Rao, who is already reeling under difficulties in the Formula E race case, received another big shock today.
The ACB received another complaint alleging huge irregularities by him in the ORR toll lease tenders.
The president of the BC Political JAC Yugandhar Goud handed over a written complaint to the ACB officials against KTR in the issue, and demanded a thorough probe into the alleged irregularities.
In his complaint, Goud alleged that there was a quid pro quo deal in the ORR toll lease tenders.
He also lodged a complaint with the ED against KTR and former CM K Chandrashekar Rao in the same issue, and urged it to inquire into the irregularities.
The leasing out of the maintenance of the Outer Ring Road for a period of 30 years for Rs 7,380 crore had created a political stir during the BRS regime.
At that time, the opposition parties had slammed the then BRS government saying that it was illegal to enter into agreements with IRB Golconda Express Ltd without disclosing the initial estimated concession value.
Several opposition leaders had also slammed the BRS government for its agreement on May 28, 2023, to maintain the 158-km ORR in the TOT (Toll Operate Transfer) mode, which they said was completely against the Constitution and the principle of public trust.
