The Telugu Desam President N Chandrababu Naidu, on Friday, said that he had come up in politics through hard work without the help of a godfather's money or muscle power.
In a press statement after a visit to Perur village in Naravaripalli, Naidu said, "I have survived in politics only because of the good will of the voters, support of my well-wishers, and also the blessings of elders like N T Rama Rao."
Naidu and his family received a rousing reception at the Tirupati airport by his admirers and party workers, and they were taken in a procession up to Chandragiri, about 10km from Naravaripalli. He was accompanied by his son Lokesh as well.
Naidu said that NTR's personality and charisma were unparalleled. He praised NTR for the way he won the hearts of the people with his acting, and the soul of voters with his commitment to a corruption-free government, one that, he said, implemented an unadulterated political philosophy.
He lamented that the common man and the farmers are unable to celebrate Sankranti in its true form due to a steep hike in commodity prices and crop losses caused by unseasonal rains.
Further, he said that the state has been dominated by liquor, land, mineral and sand mafia for which he called upon the youth to actively make efforts to prevent corruption.
He blamed the Congress and the YSR Congress for corruption, and the TRS for deceiving the youth on the Telangana issue. (INN)
