The late N T Rama Rao's family members and other TDP leaders today staged a one-day satyagraha to protest against the arrest of their party chief Chandrababu Naidu.
TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh sat on a fast in New Delhi, while Hindupuram MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna's wife Vasundhara and NTR's family members sat on fasts at NTR Bhavan in Hyderabad.
NTR's daughter Garapati Lokeswari, Tarakaratna's wife Alekhya Reddy, NTR's grandson Garapati Srinivas, Chalasani Chamundeshwari, Nandamuri Jayasree, Nara Rohith's mother Nara Indira and others sat on the fast.
Telangana TDP president Kasani Gynaneswar, party leader Arvind Kumar Goud and others were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, NTR's grandson Garapati Srinivas expressed his displeasure at the AP government "illegally" arresting Chandrababu Naidu.
He also asked where the State Women's Commission was when the YSRCP leaders insulted NTR's and Chandrababu Naidu's family members.
He criticised MLAs Kodali Nani and Vallabhaneni Vamsi. He also said that NTR's family would stand by Bhuvaneswari, Brahmani and Lokesh.
Srinivas expressed confidence that Naidu would come out of jail very soon and work for the development of the two Telugu States.
