Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president Chandrababu Naidu today made it clear that his party was not scared of anybody in the state.
Addressing the party workers and the leaders on the second day of the party's annual conclave Mahanadu, he said that challenges were not new to the party, and that the workers of the party were strong enough to withstand any hurdles.
The second day of Mahanadu started off with floral tributes by Naidu and other party leaders to the statue of the party founder N T Rama Rao on his birth anniversary. Naidu then inaugurated the proceedings of the second day by lighting a lamp at the venue.
Speaking on the occasion, he hailed the services rendered by NTR to the party. He said that NTR was not an individual but a system, and that the life of NTR was an inspiration for all. He also said that the onus of taking the ideals of NTR forward lay on the shoulders of all the party workers and the leaders.
The conclave passed a unanimous resolution urging the central government to confer the Bharat Ratna on NTR. Naidu said that the party would work hard to ensure that the highest civilian award of the country was conferred on NTR.
Another party leader Nandamuri Balakrishna said that he would be there for the party whenever and wherever it wanted him to serve the people. He asked the party leaders and workers not to get scared of anybody, and said that the party would come back to power under the leadership of Chandrababu Naidu.
Balakrishna introduced the resolution for the Bharat Ratna to his father NTR.
