Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and national president of the TDP Chandrababu Naidu today took part in Bhogi celebrations along with his party leaders and activists at his native place Naravaripalle.
On the occasion, he burnt copies of the controversial GO No 1 of the State government in a bonfire lit to celebrate the festival.
Speaking to the gathering, he said that the party had burnt several useless things in the Bhogi bonfire, and that the GO was one of those.
He said that the party workers had burnt all the black laws brought by the Jagan government in the bonfire, and that they prayed for the end of the cruel and dictatorial rule of the government.
Naidu alleged that the CM, who had begun his rule in the State by demolishing his (Naidu's) government's Praja Vedika, was continuing that demonic rule by imposing newer taxes and increasing various charges.
He alleged that the State had the highest taxes on petrol and diesel, the highest amount of electricity charges, the highest house taxes, and taxes even on garbage collection.
He also alleged that all sections of society had sustained losses in the YSRCP rule, and that the ruling party leaders were even forcibly taking away the properties of the people by holding knives to their throats.
Talking about the roads of the State, Naidu alleged that they were uniformly in poor condition, and that he had developed a backache after travelling on them.
Naidu also alleged that the State government was responsible for the two recent tragedies involving human loss at his two public meetings in Kandukur and Guntur. He said that it was the State government that was providing security for his public meetings, but that the State government was now filing cases against him. He claimed that the State government had also filed 10 criminal cases against TDP leaders and activists in a span of 40 days in Punganur and sent them to jails.
