The Centre has given another piece of good news to the people of Telangana. It has sanctioned a third Vande Bharat Express to the Telangana.
The State already has a Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam Vande Bharat train and a Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat train. This third Vande Bharat Express will be run between Kachiguda and Bengaluru from September 24.
The flagging-off ceremony of the train will be held at the Kachiguda railway station at 12:30 pm on Sunday. The train will be flagged off virtually by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from New Delhi.
Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan, union minister G Kishan Reddy and others will be present on the occasion.
The train will leave the Kachiguda station at 5:30 am every day (except Wednesdays). It will stop at Mahbubnagar (6:59 am), Kurnool City (8:39 am) and Anantapur (10:54 am) among other places, and reach Yeshwantpur of Bengaluru at 2:15 pm. It will then leave Yeshwantpur at 3 pm, and stop at Anantapur (5:40 pm), Kurnool City (7:50 pm) and Mahbubnagar (21:39 pm) among other places on the way back, and reach Kachiguda station at 11:15 pm.
The third passes through 12 districts (Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Mahbubnagar, Wanaparthy, Jogulamba and Gadwal districts in Telangana; Kurnool, Nandyal, Anantapur and Sri Sathya Sai districts in Andhra Pradesh; and Chikballapur and Bangalore Rural districts in Karnataka. The average speed of the train will be 71.74 kmph. It takes 11 hours and 20 minutes for other express trains to cover the distance between Hyderabad and Bengaluru. The Vande Bharat train will take 8 hours and 30 minutes.
