A case has been registered against Amaravathi MP, BJP star campaigner and ex-film actress Navneet Kaur at the Shadnagar police station in Ranga Reddy district.
The police have registered a case on the basis of a complaint filed by the Election Commission's flying squad.
The flying squad objected to her remarks that voting for the Congress amounted to voting for Pakistan.
A complaint in this regard was lodged at the local police station as per the election rules.
As part of the party's Lok Sabha election campaign, Kaur recently campaigned for the BJP candidates in Telangana. As part of that, she addressed a roadshow in support of the BJP candidate for the Mahabubnagar Lok Sabha seat D K Aruna, in Shadnagar town. In her speech, she said that voting for the Congress was like voting for Pakistan. Those comments were taken seriously by the Election Commission.
Along with against Kaur, the police have also registered a case against those responsible for taking permission for the roadshow as per the EC rules.
