Siddipet MLA and former minister Harish Rao today alleged that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who was caught red-handed in the cash-for-votes case, would inevitably face a jail sentence.
Addressing a municipal election campaign rally at Ramdas Chowrasta in Medak, Rao claimed that Reddy was responsible for the recent fire accident at the Telangana Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), and alleged that it was an attempt to destroy crucial evidence in the case.
The BRS MLA accused the Chief Minister of deliberately setting the fire at the lab as the prospect of legal action and imprisonment loomed. He alleged that the conspiracy was carried out with the cooperation of the police.
Rao also recalled that Reddy had made several promises during the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections at the Komuravelly and Edupayala temples. However, the Congress government had failed to fulfill those assurances even two years after coming to power, he claimed.
Stressing the importance of the municipal elections, he said that the outcome would reflect public sentiment and that a setback for the Congress would force the Chief Minister to honour his commitments, and urged the people to vote for the BRS.
