The Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) on Monday gave a suspension of business notice under Rule 267 in the Rajya Sabha, demanding that the House discuss the "abuse" of central agencies by the union government.
In the letter addressed to Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar, BRS MP K Keshava Rao said, "I desire to move the motion, under Rule 267 (Suspension of Business) of Rules of Conduct of Business in the Council, to discuss the abuse of central agencies like CBI and ED by the government. I therefore move the following motion: That this house suspends the rule pertaining to business listed in today's (13.03.23) agenda as per the relevant Rules of Conduct of Business in the Council; and take up its discussion."
Of late, BRS leaders, including Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, have been criticising the union government for "misusing" the investigation agencies against the opposition parties, and have also found fault with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning their leader and MLC K Kavitha in connection with Delhi liquor policy scam.
