Having risen against all odds to become the PCC chief, Botsa Satyanarayana is reportedly currently eyeing the Chief Minister's seat.
The aides of the Congressman have expressed confidence that Botsa would go on to make political history by becoming the state's first CM belonging to a BC community.
The PCC chief himself is reported to have hinted that the Congress may consider placing a BC leader in the CM berth at the opportune time.
According to sources, Botsa perceives Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) President Chiranjeevi as a possible threat to his CM ambitions, as both of them belong to the Kapu community. The PCC chief, it appears, intends do to everything in his considerable power to clip the actor-turned-politician's wings so that the latter does not gain prominance in the party.
Moving on, Botsa reportedly intends to launch an extensive campaign in all the 3 regions of the state, starting with Telangana.
Sathyanarayana's supporters state that he wishes to assure the people of Telangana that he would present an accurate picture of their situation and their aspirations to the Congress High Command.
Addressing a press meet on Wednesday, Botsa clarified that the responsibilities conferred on him included instilling confidence among the party members, strengthening the party's stand and ensuring that the Congress continues to stay in power under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi.
