PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana, on Wednesday, stated that the resignation of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and other Seemandhra ministers and legislators would have no impact on the process of the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
Botsa said that the resignations have been delayed. He felt that the Chief Minister and others should have resigned immediately after the Congress Working Committee announced its decision to support the formation of a separate Telangana state on July 30, 2013. He said that resignations at this stage would serve no purpose.
The PCC chief said that the en masse resignations following CWC's decision would have created a constitutional crisis forcing the Congress High Command to reconsider its decision. However, he said, the opportunity has been lost. Therefore, the resignations would have no impact in reversing the decision bifurcating the state. (INN)
