BJP Lodges Complaint Against MLA Rohith Reddy With EC

The Telangana unit of the BJP today lodged a complaint with the Election Commission of India against BRS MLA Pilot Rohith Reddy over the latter's educational qualifications.

BJP MLA M Raghunandan Rao wrote a letter to the EC alleging that Rohith Reddy had misled it about his educational qualifications.

He said that Reddy had in his election affidavit submitted to the EC in 2018 stated that his highest educational qualification was intermediate, but that the same leader had told the HC that he had got his B Tech and MS degrees from Sweden-based BTH University in his affidavit filed in 2009.

Rao said that the MLA had thus misled the EC by submitting false information about his academic qualifications, thereby violating the rules of the EC. He urged the commission to take action against the MLA as per the Representation of People Act.
