Union Minister G Kishan Reddy and Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar today condemned the attack on the convoy of the party MLA Eatala Rajender, allegedly by TRS activists, in Palivela village of the Munugodu Assembly constituency.
Speaking to the media in Munugodu, Reddy and Bandi said that Eatala had never spoken in an aggressive manner against his political rivals, and had always maintained decorum in his speeches. Reddy alleged that the attack on the MLA was pre-planned, starting with CM K Chandrashekar Rao speaking in a manner that would incite violence in the constituency. He said that stones and sticks were brought in a DCM van promptly by TRS workers to carry out the attack, and that the BJP workers had maintained restraint in order to avoid escalating things.
Reddy also said that the attacks had become a regular feature, and that recently TRS MLC Palla Rajeswar Reddy too had obstructed his (Bandi's) meeting along with his party workers. He claimed that that attack had been made by the TRS leaders as they were aware of the fact that they would not get any votes in Palivela village.
He said that the ruling party was carrying out the attacks as it was scared that it was going to lose the by-election scheduled to be held on Thursday, and asserted that his party's activists would not lose their morale even after several such attacks.
Reddy also alleged that the State government was tapping the phones of the BJP leaders, and also that there was surveillance on Eatala and his family members. He also claimed that the local police were working in favour of the ruling party, and that the police did not check the vehicles of the ruling party leaders during the by-election campaigning.
He however said that the people of the constituency were observing the misuse of power by the TRS, and would teach it a fitting lesson on November 3.
