BJP Accuses KCR Of Vilifying Centre
Telangana BJP President Kishan Reddy said the A P Reorganisation Act was passed by the UPA regime, and that KCR was an MP himself when the Bill was passed.
Telangana BJP President G Kishan Reddy on Tuesday advised Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to restrain from defaming Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the issue of special powers to the Governor over law & order in Hyderabad.
Addressing a press conference here, Kishan Reddy said that the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act was passed by the previous UPA regime, and that KCR himself was a member of the Lok Sabha when the Bill was introduced and passed. Therefore, it was wrong for him to blame the present NDA government for the lapses.
He said that KCR should take all opposition parties in the State and the Centre into confidence to seek amendments in the Act.
Reddy alleged that KCR was blaming the Centre only to please the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, which is strongly against the Governor's control over law & order in Hyderabad.
He also said that he wrote a letter to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha requesting her not to get misled by the propaganda being carried out by KCR over the Centre's circular on special powers for the Governor.
He quoted the entire Section 8 of the A P Reorganisation Act, which grants special responsibility to the Governor.
He said that KCR was spreading misinformation to vitiate the cordial working relationships between the States and the Union government. (INN)
