Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has directed his party MPs to raise the issue of devolution of special powers to the Telangana Governor concerning law & order in Hyderabad, in the Lok Sabha.
Chairing a meeting of TRS MPs on Sunday, KCR reportedly asked them to move an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha on Monday against the Centre's missive on granting powers over law & order in the common capital area of Hyderabad to the Telangana Governor.
He also advised them to take the support of the JD (U) and the Trinamool Congress members to raise the issue in the House. He informed his party's MPs that he had already spoken to the Chief Ministers of Maharashtra, Orissa and Tamil Nadu in this regard, seeking their support.
KCR reportedly said that the Centre's move was an attempt to encroach upon the rights of the State in handling law & order within its boundaries. (INN)
