The Union Urban Development Minister also justified the Centre's letter to the Telangana govt transferring powers over law & order in Hyderabad to the Governor.
Union Minister for Urban Development M Venkaiah Naidu on Sunday demanded that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao withdraw his remarks wherein he described Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a fascist.
Speaking to media persons at the Telangana BJP office at Nampally, Venkaiah Naidu said that fascism was a concept against democracy. Therefore, KCR should withdraw his comments immediately, he demanded, and advised the Chief Minister to restrain from using such language in future against the Prime Minister.
Naidu also justified the Centre's letter to the Telangana government asking the latter to transfer powers over law & order in Hyderabad to the Governor.
He said that the decision was not new, and that it was explained well in the Andhra Pradesh State Reorganisation Act 2014.
He said that KCR, as an MP, had participated in the discussions in the Lok Sabha, and had welcomed the Bill.
He said that the BJP-led NDA government was only implementing the Telangana Bill passed by the Parliament.
He also made it clear that confrontation between the Telangana government and the Centre was not good for the people. He assured that the Centre would do equal justice to both the States of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. (INN)
