AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi today lashed out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and challenged the latter to come to Hyderabad and contest against him for the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat.
Owaisi made the challenge to Gandhi at a huge public meeting organized at the AIMIM headquarters as part of Milad-un-Nabi.
Speaking on the occasion, Owaisi alleged that all the communal riots in Hyderabad had been caused by the Congress, and that the Babri Masjid demolition also happened during the Congress' regime. He also pointed out that the masjid was not rebuilt later though the Congress was in power for many years after that. On the contrary, he said, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had rebuilt the demolished mosque in the Telangana Secretariat.
Owaisi asserted on the occasion that the MIM was supporting the ruling BRS, and asked the party members, workers and voters to support the BRS wherever the MIM was not contesting.
