A severe hot spell continuing in the two Telugu States is leading to people suffering oppressive heat at several places.
In the last 24 hours in Andhra Pradesh, Ananthapur recorded 42 degrees Celsius, Kurnool 40.5 degrees, Nandyal 40 degrees, Jangamaheshwaram 38.7 degrees, Nandigama 38.5 degrees, Tirupati 37.1 degrees, Vijayawada 37.1 degrees, and Nellore and Arogyavaram 37 degrees.
In Telangana, the Nizamabad district recorded 42.1 degrees Celsius, Adilabad 41.3, Medak 41.2, Ramagundam 40.4, Nalgonda 40.2, Mahbubnagar 40, Hyderabad 39.8 and Hanumakonda 39.6.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department's daily weather report for Telangana, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places over the State in the coming two days followed by dry weather all over after that.
