Yesteryears Telugu superstar Krishna's younger brother and YSRCP leader Ghattameneni Adiseshagiri Rao has decided to quit the party and join the ruling TDP.
Rao wrote a letter to YSR Congress Party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy conveying his decision to leave the party.
Rao wanted to contest the upcoming elections from the Tenali Assembly constituency as a YSRCP candidate. But Jagan asked him to contest from the Vijayawada Lok Sabha constituency. This has reportedly upset Rao and prompted him to make up his mind to leave the party and join the TDP.
Rao is planning to join the ruling party by holding a massive meeting in Krishna district after the Sankranti festival, it is learnt.
