Accused On Bail Blackmails Woman Again, Held Again

In August 2017, a woman approached the Hyderabad SHE Teams complaining that a person by name Md Altaf Khan, 26, living in Bada Bazaar of Golconda, who was already married, was following her and harassing her.

At a time earlier when both of them were friends, Khan had taken a few pictures with her. After a few months, however, he started blackmailing her with the photos and videos, threatening to upload them onto the social media if she did not give him money.

Frightened by that, she paid him some money. But he continued to ask for money saying that he would show the videos and photos to her relatives, people in their locality etc.

Vexed at his harassment, the woman approached She Teams of the Hyderabad police. Khan was traced and caught, and was handed over to the Banjara Hills Police Station. He was arrested and later released on bail.

While the case was in court, Khan again started blackmailing the woman for money. He started sending the photos to her brother and father, and threatened and blackmailed them, too, that he would make the photos and videos public.

Panicking at his blackmailing, the victim and her family approached the SHE Teams again on 21st March. Khan was traced and caught by the teams that day itself. Upon an inquiry, he accepted his guilt.

Immediately Khan and two of his friends who had helped him commit the offence were arrested and handed over to the Banjara Hills PS again. A case was registered against them, and they were arrested and are being produced before a magistrate.
