Abhaya Rape: R R Bar Association Not To Defend Accused

The Rangareddy District Bar Association on Wednesday took a unanimous decision that none of its members would appear for the two accused youth in court in the Abhaya rape case, wherein a 22-year-old IT employee was kidnapped and raped.

The advocates decided that they would not defend the accused, and that they would also discourage other lawyers from doing so.

Demanding stern action against the accused for their heinous act, they said that neither of the accused deserved any mercy.

They also demanded speedy trial in the case. (INN)
