Barely two months after a 60-year-old man raped a 6-year-old girl in Kapra, an even worse incident was reported in Kushaiguda.
An 85-year-old man named Satyanarayana, a retired railway employee, was arrested for raping a 12-year-old dalit girl studying in a government school in the same area.
Satyanarayana apparently lured the 7th class girl with chocolates and raped her. The incident came to light when the girl complained to her parents about the sexual assault by the old man after SHE Teams visited the school as part of their campaign to get people to report sexual crimes - the family lodged a complaint yesterday.
Satyanarayana is alleged to have raped three more girls of the school over the past few months, and sexually assaulted three more. The cops sent seven girls to Gandhi hospital for medical examination as part of the investigation into complaints of sexual assault by the octagenarian.
Earlier, in September, a 60-year-old man was tied to an electricity pole and thrashed by locals after a six-year-old girl complained of sexual assault by him at Kapra. Siddaiah was reported to have lured the girl to an isolated place and raped her. The girl came home crying with pain and narrated the incident to her parents who immediately caught the old man and tied him to an electricity pole. The locals punched and kicked the man before handing him over to the police.
