75% Of Metro Rail Works Completed: Claims KTR
IT & Industries Minister K T Rama Rao in the Assembly said that the metro rail would soon be on tracks in its first phase.

IT & Industries Minister K T Rama Rao today said that 75% of works of the Hyderabad Metro Rail were completed and the Rail would soon be on tracks in its first phase. The rest of the works were going on at a fast pace.
Responding to queries of the Opposition members on city development works during a brief discussion in the Assembly, the Minister said that the government was committed to complete the HMR project at the earliest.
Speaking on other infrastructure works, he said that Rs. 115.46 crores were being spent separately on revamping sewage systems, roads and infrastructure in the IT corridor of Hyderabad.
KTR also said that a building tribunal had been set up to address the issue of illegal structures constructed on storm drains. So far, 938 illegal structures and dilapidated buildings were demolished, he claimed.
He also spoke briefly on several other development works being taken up by the government in Hyderabad including the ongoing diversion of industrial effluents from Hussain Sagar, the upcoming water treatment plants along the stretch of Musi, the laying of new plastic roads in the Uppal area, the construction of 113 new junctions to control traffic and pollution, the implementation of the Free Double Bedroom housing scheme for slum dwellers and other poor people, the completion of the Outer Ring Road works connecting Pedda-Amberpet and Keesara, increasing GHMC circles from 18 to 30, and others.
