The BRS MLAs and MLCs today protested in an innovative way in solidarity with the Lagacherla farmers.
The MLAs attended the Assembly session wearing black robes and handcuffs.
They also shouted slogans in the Assembly lobbies on the lines of "This is a kingdom, a kingdom of khaki, a kingdom of plunder, a kingdom of lathi, a kingdom of loot, shame, shame on the shackles for farmers."
The MLAs demanded that the State government apologize to the Lagacherla farmers.
The BRS MLCs also protested in a similar manner in the Council.
For context, the BRS had earlier moved an adjournment resolution on the forced land acquisition and arrest of farmers in the name of setting up industries. BRS working president and Sircilla MLA K T Rama Rao had submitted the adjournment resolution to the Speaker, requesting permission to discuss these issues in the House.
