Road Repair Works To Be Completed Soon: KTR
The Minister spoke on the status of BT roads construction and other infrastructural works pending in Hyderabad and rest of Telangana.
Hyderabad | 26th December 2016
Telangana Municipal Administration & Urban Development Minister K T Rama Rao today stated that as part of the road repairs taken up during the September rains in Hyderabad, 463 bituminous roads had been laid and 25 were still under progress, and 317 roads had been de-silted so far.
Replying to a question raised by BJP members G Kishan Reddy, K Laxman, N V S S Prabhakar and Chintala Ramachandra Reddy during the Question Hour in the Assembly on Monday, KTR said that most of the road repairs and recarpeting were finished. But a few of them were delayed due to tender recall.
He added that 50 Bus Bays, 100 public toilets and 21 modern graveyards were built, and 16 other works in progress.
Rao also said that 12 model markets were completed and 25 were under progress. Some 100 compound walls were completed while 37 were delayed.
Explaining the hiatus, he claimed that model markets were delayed due to non-availability of clear title of land while compound walls for open spaces were delayed due to site disputes, court cases and so on.
The works which were not held up due to court cases/site disputes would be completed at the earliest, he promised.
