The YSR Congress Party has lodged a complaint with the Assembly Speaker and Council Chairman seeking disqualification of four MLAs and two MLCs who had defected to the TDP.
YSRCP leaders today met State Legislative Secretary-General P P K Ramacharya and submitted a complaint in this regard.
They said that Undavalli Sridevi, Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Mekapati Chandrasekhar Reddy and Kotamreddy Sreedhara Reddy won on YSRCP tickets, and demanded action against them as per the law for defecting.
Meanwhile, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena party president Pawan Kalyan met the Election Commission of India (ECI) officials in Vijayawada on Tuesday morning. Thadikonda MLA Undavalli Sridevi too came there on the occasion. Responding to the YSRCP's complaint seeking her disqualification, she said that she was not given any notice, and asked the ruling party leaders to take her explanation first. She said that she would respond to the notice once she got it.
Sridevi and three other MLAs were expelled from the YSRCP for allegedly defying the party whip in the MLC elections. Since then, these four MLAs have been participating in TDP programs.
Meanwhile, the TDP too has decided to give a letter to the Assembly Speaker to disqualify those who have defected from the party.
