YSR Congress Targets 1 Crore Members

The YSR Congress Party, with the morale high among in its activists from the recent thumping victory in the by-elections to the Kadapa Lok Sabha and Pulivendula Assembly constituencies, aims to enrol lmore than 1 crore voters in the state during its first member enrolment drive to be taken up from July 1.

YSR Congress Party state coordinator P N V Prasad told media persons at Sagar Society, the party's headquarters, on Sunday, that the enrolment drive would be taken up across the state from July 1, which will see its activists go from door to door in every village, mandal and district and urge the people to become party members.

"The party workers will go from door to door to enrol members for the party. All sections of people, including youth, women, the aged, people from the weaker sections and those from the minority, will be approached. Every person in the state is our priority, irrespective of his or her social standing," Prasad said.

He said that a nominal fee of Rs. 10 will be charged from men for a primary membership of 3 years. For the women, the primary membership fee is just Rs. 5 for 3 years, Prasad revealed.

The YSR Congress leader further revealed that Rs. 100 will be charged from the men for active membership of the party, while the active membership fee for women is Rs. 50.

Prasad said the membership drive will be completed on July 20.

"We are confident that the membership drive will further strengthen the party in the all districts across the state," he stated. (INN)
