Slamming YSR Congress Party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy for alleging that the Congress was intentionally foisting cases against him, Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Thursday sought to corner the Kadapa MP, saying that the latter had quit the party only because he was fearful that his corrupt deeds would be exposed.
Talking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, Botsa stated that Jagan had quit the Congress since he was neck deep in corruption and was apprehensive that his misdeeds would be exposed by the probing agencies.
"Jaganmohan Reddy was apprehensive that action would be taken against him as in the case of former Union Minister A Raja or former IOC chief Suresh Kalmadi. He thought he could escape the clutches of the law by becoming an opposition leader," the PCC chief said.
"However, the law will take its own course. There is no need for the Congress to foist any false cases against Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy for revenge," he said.
Responding to the defense adopted by Jagan, that the entire Cabinet of former chief minister (also his father) the late YSR should be held responsible for the decisions taken during his stint, Botsa questioned the validity of the Kadapa MP's words.
"How can the Cabinet be responsible for decisions taken from behind the scenes?" he questioned.
Botsa said his advice to Jagan was to take the
CBI probe as a challenge and cooperate with the probing agency to come clean in public life.
He also sarcastically suggested that the Kadapa MP give a lecture at an IIM on how he became rich within a couple of years as it would help young entrepreneurs. (INN)
