Almost all senior Congress leaders, including MLAs and MLCs present in Hyderabad, on Monday, met at the Congress legislature Party office.
According to sources, the Legislators discussed the political situation following the
resignation of Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy from the party and Lok Sabha. Sources say that Jagan's detractors were planning on how best to counter the allegations mentioned in his resignation letter to AICC president Sonia Gandhi.
The senior leaders, who have one eye on the ministerial list in Kiran Kumar Reddy's cabinet, are expected to launch a scathing attack on the Kadapa MP, and also be vociferous in their welcome to the resignation, sources say.
Congress leaders J C Diwakar Reddy, Erasu Pratap Reddy, Anam Vivekananda Reddy, Gade Venkat Reddy, Rami Reddy, Damodar Reddy and others took part in the meeting.
Loyalists of former chief minister late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy are expected to carefully weigh their options before making their intentions clear whether to go along with the Congress party or emulate Jagan and resign.
