Peddapalli MP G Vivekanand, who recently re-joined the Congress party from the TRS, on Monday alleged that he was forced to quit the Congress party due to the attitude of the then Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy.
Speaking to media persons after holding a meeting with senior Congress leaders at his residence here, Vivek said that he was never upset with the Congress party. It was Kiran Kumar Reddy who pushed the Telangana Congress leaders to the edge by trying everything he could to stop Telangana.
He alleged that KKR had sent a false report to the Centre against Telangana.
Since the Congress party fufilled its promise of giving statehood to Telangana region, he returned to the party, he said.
Vivek said that there was no personal motive or gain for him behind joining the TRS. It was done to pressurise the Centre and the Congress party to take an early decision on Telangana.
He also denied having any personal grude against former minister D Sridhar Babu. (INN)
