A woman named Shejal, who accused BRS MLA Durgam Chinnaiah of sexually harassing her, has now approached the officials of the CBI in the same regard.
In her complaint, she alleged that the Telangana police did not pay heed to the complaint filed by her against Chinnaiah, and urged the CBI officials to register a case against him.
Shejal had recently lodged a complaint with the National Commission for Women (NCW) alleging that Chinnaiah had sexually harassed her. She claimed that she had evidence of the harassment, and released a video and a photo of the same.
In response, the National Commission for Women wrote a letter to the Telangana DGP. The letter directed that an inquiry be conducted into the allegations of sexual harassment, and action be taken. The commission also sought an update within 15 days. An inquiry was ordered into Shejal's complaint subsequently.
However, within days, Shejal approached the CBI and lodged a formal complaint.
