Telugu Desam Party president Chandrababu Naidu today vowed that he would work hard to restore the past glory to the Telugu community.
Speaking to the media after praying at the famous Kanaka Durga temple in Vijayawada on the occasion of his birthday, he said that he had asked the presiding deity goddess Kanaka Durga to give him more strength to fight on behalf of the people of the State.
He said that Telugu people across the globe were celebrating his birthday in different parts of the world, and were also conveying their greetings to him. He thanked them, and said that the TDP would fight for the development of the Telugu people irrespective of their place of residence.
He also said that he would lead his party to success in the State in the next Assembly elections.
The priests of the temple blessed Naidu on the occasion, and performed special prayers.
Meanwhile, several party leaders and workers celebrated the birthday of their leader in different parts of the State by cutting cakes. The leaders also called on Naidu and conveyed their greetings.
