Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu today said that it was his responsibility to ensure that no injustice was done to anyone who has worked hard for the party.
"I remember all the hardships faced by the party activists and leaders of the Kuppam Assembly constituency during the five years of the anarchic rule of the YSRCP. The conspiracies of the then government to weaken the TDP did not work before the morale of the leaders and activists," he said.
Naidu held a meeting with the party leaders and workers of the constituency at the party office in Kuppam. He reviewed the performance of the last five years and the policies adopted in the elections.
Naidu advised the party leaders and workers on what to work on for the 2029 elections. Addressing them, he also said, "I have won as an MLA from Kuppam eight times. We have never seen as much violence, attacks and atrocities as in the last five years. They wanted to hurt me morally. The local TDP leaders and activists were lured or attacked, in attempts to damage the leadership. YSRCP leaders indulged in irregularities in the panchayat and municipal elections too. The TDP candidates were not even allowed to file their nominations. When I came on the district tour, I was prevented from bringing GO-1. Illegal cases were also filed against the protesting activists. As many as 10 people were arrested illegally and kept in jail for 30 days. It had never been that bad."
He said that he had two major responsibilities: make Kuppam the no 1 constituency in the country in development, and identify those who had worked hard for the party and give them positions.
"All of you should connect with the people and do well. You should also not make the mistakes made by the previous government. The change from their government to ours should be visible to the people. We all need to be disciplined and responsible. If you do well, whatever level of leader you are, I will come to your house and congratulate you. You have to focus on the party instead of trying to be around me. The TDP has a history of making ordinary workers MPs and ministers. I will do justice to everyone who works hard," he said.
