Telugu Desam Party deputy floor leader Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu, on Wednesday, demanded an explanation from the state and the Centre on why the Central Bureau Of Investigation has not arrested Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in connection with the disproportionate assets case.
Talking to media persons at the Telugu Desam Legislature Party Office, Muddukrishnama Naidu alleged that the probing agency backed out from arresting Jagan after the latter had a meeting with Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh in New Delhi.
Gali pointed out that despite the court asking the probing agency why it has not arrested Jagan, who is the primary accused in the case, the CBI has failed to give the court a satisfactory explanation.
Suspecting that the Congress has had a "secret pact" with Jagan over extending support to the UPA government, he demanded that Congress president Sonia Gandhi give an explanation about the issue. He alleged that Sonia Gandhi might have also got her "share" in the state's corruption.
Gali said that leaders of both the Congress and the YSR Congress have colluded in corruption and in sharing of properties.
TDP MLA Lingareddy took serious note of Congress In-Charge of State Affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad and Congress emissary Vayalar Ravi for their interference in the administration of the state government. He said that these leaders were not allowing Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to take decisions on his own, and that they were forcing the latter to depend on the High Command for even trivial issues.
He also criticized Azad for sitting in the Chief Minister's chair in the camp office, in a recent meeting - an act that, Gali said, was insulting to the people of the state.
Lingareddy demanded that the Congress High Command give the CM a free hand in taking decisions on matters of policy. (INN)
