The Telugu Desam Party, on Tuesday, accused the Congress-led UPA government of mounting pressure on the CBI to not arrest Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in the disproportionate assets case.
Talking to media persons at the Telugu Desam Legislature Party office, TDP MLAs Devineni Uma, B Durgaprasad and M Lingareddy accused the UPA government of not giving the CBI a free hand in arresting Jagan.
They wanted to know why, even though the CBI named Jagan as the number one accused in its chargesheet submitted to the court, why it hadn't arrested him yet.
They accused the CBI of discrimination in the issue, since others were being arrested and Jagan was not. They also alleged that the CBI was not arresting Jagan since he shares a good relationship with Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Union Home Minister P Chidambaram and Sonia Gandhi's political advisor hmed Patel.
