The Congress today staged a satyagraha at the State party headquarters Gandhi Bhavan in protest against the summoning of party president Sonia Gandhi by the ED for a second time.
TPCC working president Mahesh Kumar Goud, former TPCC presidents Ponnala Lakshmaiah and V Hanumantha Rao, and senior party leaders took part in the program.
Speaking on the occasion, VHR asked the ED why it required several hours to question Sonia Gandhi in a single case.
He also warned that the entire country would be turned into a fire pit if Gandhi was jailed.
VHR also alleged that BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, who had lodged a complaint against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi with the ED, was a blackmailer.
Calling the BJP leaders terrorists, he said that they made inflammatory speeches as soon as they received orders from Nagpur, the headquarters of the RSS.
Referring to the decision of the RSS to hoist the national flag, he asked the RSS leadership why they were reminded of the national flag after so many years of keeping it away.
VHR also censured party MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy for his recent comments about Sonia Gandhi.
Without taking the name of Reddy, VHR said that some leaders were daydreaming that the BJP would come to power in the State after the next Assembly elections.
Former PCC chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah said that it was shameful that some leaders were shamelessly saying that Sonia Gandhi should appear before the ED if it asked her to do so.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was evil, as seen by how the BJP had formed governments by poaching the MLAs of the Congress, and asked what the credibility of the ED probe was then. He said that the inquiry by the ED against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi was just a conspiracy, and asked the CBI and the ED why they were ignoring the "wasteful" expenditure of Modi.
Party MLA Seethakka alleged that the successors of "terrorist" Nathuram Godse were harassing the successors of the Gandhi family. She also alleged that the ED was targeting only the Congress leaders, and that it was acting like an organisation affiliated to the BJP.
